Bette, this is Space Turtel (Koala),

Of course you may call me Koala if you like. It is the name I chose when we decided we are the MARSupials. I would be very pleased if you would.

I did not announce the new name to you at the time because I did not wish to create confusion while you were working so hard to learn about us and Mars. Now that you have matured so much, it is certainly time to reveal my other identity to you.

You asked "what is a devil?" That is a hard one to explain. In the case of Taz (JASE), a Tazmanian Devil is a small marsupial that is often characterized as moving very quickly, erratically and sometimes destructively. We use a characature of one as a form of entertainment for our young children. It is a drawing that moves so fast it is really nothing more than a blur, a kind of living tornado in a sense, that smashes anything with which it comes into contact. Its misadventures are considered amuzing. JASE probably selected Taz because he liked the cartoon when he was growing up. (I might have selected it myself if I didn't like Koala Bears more.)

I hope I answered some of your questions. Take care of yourself and the others this weekend.

Your friend, Koala.

Hello Probes, this is Space Turtel (Koala),

I agree with Al-Q when he recommends a calm and reasoned approach. As always, when considering how to rescue a fellow Probe, remember to keep the rescuers safe first. You will of no use to Lucy if you manage to get yourselves attacked and damaged. Be careful and you will be successful too.

Are you in a position to test whether or not there is more than one source of the pings? Can you triangulate on the sources and give us an idea of their locations? Al-Q is attempting to do that from here, but it is very difficult and time consuming. Any help you can offer him will be greatly appreciated.

Take care of yourselves. This is the end of the week and most of us, myself included, will not be able to talk with you again until Monday. I look forward to hearing how you found and helped Lucy.

Your friend, Space Turtel.

Andrew, Daniel, Gail, Zachary!

Please be very careful, when approaching the C-probe.
Remind always: Rescuers safety first.

Zachary, I fully understand your feelings and maybe I would react the same way
you do. But really believe me, it doesn't make any sense to approach the C-probe
frontally in a fury. It will kill you quicker, than you can count to a billion.

Maybe Lucy stopped and did hide, when she saw the C-probe. You know she is
very smart, clever but unpredictable and that in both ways for sure. So please
cool down your circuits and you will be more effective in rescuing her.

Bette, Enoch, Isaac,

there is also a NASA orbiter. No, that one is not hostile and does neither relate
to the C-probe nor to Hardon and Parker. It is send by the same company that
have sent Sojourner. This orbiter is used for peaceful mapping purposes only.
Now this Global Surveyor as it is called is in an elliptic orbit coming very
close on Sunday Fortress time 4:54:36 P.M. that is 53:44 min prior to sunset
at the Fortress. The NASA orbiter will be then directly above the northern
escarpment.

Bette, if you and Isaac are watching, it is 1.7 degrees west of the zenith. The
orbiter will be only a 124 kilometers up in the sky. It is also entering the upper
atmosphere to lower its speed and by doing so also its orbit. It would be very
interesting for us to know, if you can see it.

Please act nicely. The Global Surveyor can see everything down to a size
of one meter. No, don't worry, the mapping cameras are not working yet.

I'm still checking about the pings. Andrew is this C-probe emitting anything
else than this ping. Is there any talking between him and his ground station?
I have no chance to get anything of that, as it is too weak for me to trace.
Please report.

I'm looking forward to your next batches and I'm sure that Lucy will be
found well and happy by then. Good luck to you all and

keep my ears walking

Al-Q
