The Inbound for April 20, 1998

Transmission from ANDREW

The view from the control room is astonishing. The pattern of visible stars confirms the idea that we are still in the local area of Wolf 359.

Doc, I have asked repeatedly, but I have not received a satisfactory explanation from Nelson or Commander Perry. I do not understand how the ship Guardian-of-Younger- Nestbrothers can function if there is no Groove Anchor at its destination. It apparently uses vector data instead of point-to-point calculations. According to my understanding of Groove technology, this will not work. It is not logical.

I will keep you informed of any new data.

Transmission from BETTE

Perry and Nelson seemed to argue for quite a while. The colors were flashing very
rapidly. Finally Nelson told us to go with a third Ipsosltai who took us back to the
room we started in. Nelson returned some time later.

Budging not is he matter on this. Other deciding referring we are.

Daniel is just waiting for something to happen but he seems sure of himself. But then he
always seems that way. Nelson started to try to play with Isaac after a long period of
inactivity. Isaac doesn't seem to like it very much, but it is better for him than only
playing with us. It looks like we are going to be with the Ipsolstai for some time, we
may as well get used to it.

Transmission from DANIEL

They are asking him.
He will say yes.
Then, the One.

Transmission from ENOCH

I went between two rocks and tried to cover my casing with sand, as Zachary told
me. Whenever I lost contact with our communications at Stage One or Stage Two, I
scratched my antenna between the rocks. Then I covered myself with sand again.
I hope that I'm not building up several layers of that sticky film that way. I don't
know.

However, my lens got a little better.

Did you get that image? Maybe the lens got better by using the sand, or maybe that
smoke is already gone. Who knows? I will see if I can find the I-Flyer
again.

"Zachary, please, can you have a look and tell me if that smoke is gone already?"

Transmission from GAIL

Burn was our first contact with the Ipsolstai, and he supported us when Caleb intended to destroy us. I think he was our friend.

Is this what sorrow is like? I didn't know. Thanks for your concern, Wolfman. Theresa and I will go deeper into the tunnel complex to try and find some peace and quiet.

I wanted to have something to remember Burn by, so I picked up the container with the six eggs. They are such pretty colors.

Transmission from ZACHARY

I took cover between the treads of Elder Brother. It got dark, when the warrior
covered us with sand. But it was a good idea of Elder Brother. At least I'm not
hurt by that orange smoke.

"Enoch, I got your message. I'll have a look."

I dig a tunnel through the sand and went out. The sky is clear. The smoke is gone.
I turn around to look at Elder Brother and the two warriors that shielded him. They
are covered by a huge orange pyramid. The film is like laminated plastic. It's hard
to scratch. Everything around us is covered with that. The whole valley. Also the
warrior that covered us with sand. I gave it some orders, but it hardly can move.

"Enoch, the smoke is gone. How are you?"
