The Inbound for January 06, 1998

Transmission from BETTE

They took our transmitters out over the weekend! Burn seemed upset but he apologized for it. He said it was necessary for things to be valid. They gave us back our transmitters today as we were led back into that funny room. Caleb, Burn and the other six were already present when we arrived. Caleb turned to us as soon as our transmitters were in and began speaking.

Breaking did the item you? Recognize fact this is you?

I think he wants to know if we broke that thing in the other room before the Ipsolstai showed up.

"It was an accident. Isaac is young, he doesn't know better yet."

Then Caleb spoke again.

Confession this one does. Broken is it. Conclucion obvious is.

Burn flashed a whole lot of colors. The translator seemed to have trouble keeping up with it.

Nothing proven indicates...inaction policy acceptable...very bad...understanding having must

One of the six Ipsolstai in the corners has begen to change colors slightly. I think Caleb is pleased. Im scared. I don't know what is happening. Please, won't someone talk to us? I don't know what to tell Isaac.

Transmission from ENOCH

We went down to the two dazzled C-probes. They still were standing in front of the gorge, like nothing had happened. I placed a cartridge between their treads. They didn't even
realize that I was doing that. But then we had a real problem. We had to get them moving,so the cartridges could explode, but they didn't move. Zachary finally threw rocks at their sensors. That helped. They moved a little and the cartridges blew up. We stood a little close, but we were lucky, though pretty alarmed. Anyway, both are immobilized now.

"Zachary, come on. Let's go north. Al-Q said that one troop of the C-probes will be at the crack soon."

Transmission from DANIEL

* * NO TRANSMISSION RECEIVED * *

Transmission from ZACHARY

We reached the crack just in time. The C-probes have arrived already. We took cover in the crack and lurked over the edge. We acted very carefully and kept ourselves in quite a distance to the C-probes. We didn't even say one word, so they had no chance to detect us.

The C-probes are much more careful now too. Their sensors are turning around all the time. They are many. Hardly to say how many, but twenty-five might be correct. First three of them passed over the narrow passage between the crack and the rough ground saving the area for the others. The others went over one by one and built up a semicircle immediately on the other side to form a beachhead. Each C-probe watched its own sector. They are now moving fully in a military order. They even have rear guards.

We have to warn Andrew. I pushed Enoch. Let's move on, where we can send a message to Andrew. No, Enoch! Don't say a word. The C-probes are still too close. We really have to take care and so have Andrew and Daniel. That isn't easy with that C-troop. They are warned.

Transmission from GAIL

More C-probes, we will defeat them again. I wish I could help but I can’t leave Theresa.
I don’t care how many come, we can out smart them all. We are smarter than they are.
"Enoch, Zachary please be careful, when you get to move up to their ship. If there are real probes to talk with let me know and I will bring Theresa and we will talk to it. I will make them understand that killing is wrong. There must be a smart probe leading them.

Transmission from ANDREW

Andrew Reporting:

I can’t talk much, I heard a noise and found a new group of C-probes coming this way. So I am hiding until it is safe to come out. I just got a message from Zachary but I don’t dare answer it.
